As a Software Engineer 2, you will contribute to backend platform services, internal tools, and infrastructure components that enable scalable, reliable, and efficient engineering across teams.
This is a hands-on role where you will primarily focus on coding, debugging, and learning platform systems, working closely with senior engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
What You'll Do- Develop and maintain backend services, platform components, and internal tools
- Contribute to APIs, automation frameworks, and shared platform capabilities
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following team standards
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies
- Solve issues in development and production by receiving mentorship
- Support system reliability and performance improvements
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and SRE teams
- Learn and apply best practices in scalability, observability, and system design
Must-Have Qualifications- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2-4 years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in Java (or similar backend language)
- Experience building or contributing to RESTful APIs or backend services
- Basic understanding of:
- Distributed systems concepts
- Databases (SQL; exposure to NoSQL is a plus)
- Familiarity with:
- Version control (Git)
- CI/CD pipelines
- Unit testing and debugging
Additionally:- Working knowledge of modern frontend technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Angular) sufficient to contribute to UI components and integrations when needed
Nice-to-Have- Exposure to Spring Boot or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka)
- Experience with cloud platforms, containers (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Basic knowledge of monitoring/logging tools
- Awareness of platform engineering concepts (internal tooling, shared services)

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$80,800 - $143,600
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
