The Amazon Build Team owns the tools that allow developers across Amazon to build quickly and correctly. As we embrace a world of continuous delivery the number of package builds each day is well into the millions. Responsibilities include:
- Managing one of the largest build fleet in the industry performing thousands of millions of package builds everyday.
- Directly hiring, retaining and growing top engineering talent for your team.
- Having a clear technical voice, working with and partnering with other teams to deliver a highly scalable and reliable service, meeting the needs of Amazon business and its engineers.
- Continuously and reliably delivering high quality technical solutions to delight your customers.
- Operating a critical service for Amazon
- Creating annual plans for the Source team and contributing to the annual plans of the larger organization delivering products for Amazon engineers.

Why Amazon Software Builder Experience (ASBX):
The mission of ASBX is to improve the software development experience across Amazon. Our goal is to remove common roadblocks for software development engineers, data engineers, system engineers, and applied scientists by automating updates, accelerating deployment processes, and reducing unnecessary interruptions. The team focuses on creating tools and workflows that give developers more time to innovate and platforms for task management. Our ultimate aim is to make Amazon the best place for software builders to work and innovate.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
