Job Summary
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications through comprehensive manual and automated testing. This role is responsible for developing and executing test strategies, creating automated test suites, validating application functionality and data integrity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation, Agile methodologies, and backend data validation.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute exploratory, functional, integration, regression, and automated tests to ensure product quality.
• Work independently on assigned project deliverables while meeting project timelines and quality standards.
• Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data for application testing.
• Perform testing of mobile applications and enterprise service applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web and service-based applications.
• Validate backend data by verifying data integrity, consistency, and expected outputs against business requirements.
• Execute SQL queries to validate data stored in relational databases.
• Identify, document, track, and retest software defects using defect management tools.
• Report testing progress, milestones, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.
• Identify application inconsistencies and support issue resolution throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Participate in production deployments, including off-hours launch support and post-deployment monitoring when required.
• Maintain and update project documentation and knowledge-sharing resources using Confluence.
• Collaborate with development, business, and QA teams to improve testing processes and software quality.
Required Qualifications
• Experience working within Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience testing web applications and client-server applications.
• Hands-on experience developing automated test scripts using Python and Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience performing data conversion testing and backend data validation.
• Strong SQL/MySQL skills for querying, validating, and analyzing database data.
• Experience performing interface, system, regression, and functional testing.
• Experience designing automated end-to-end test scenarios using open-source testing tools such as Selenium or Python-based frameworks.
• Knowledge of black-box and white-box testing methodologies.
• Experience using defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Experience with test management tools such as Zephyr or TestLink.
• Experience setting up and maintaining QA environments and managing test data.
• Programming knowledge in one or more languages such as Java, C, C#, C++, Visual Basic, or XML.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience testing mobile applications.
• Experience supporting production deployments and post-release monitoring.
• Familiarity with continuous integration, automated testing pipelines, and modern software quality engineering practices.
