Software Development Engineer IIHelp develop real-time, AI-powered fraud and abuse defenses on a global scale. You will build cloud-native decisioning and automated remediation systems, simplify our platform, and be a part of our journey to become an AI-first technology organization.
In this role, you will:- Develop software modules for automated risk decisioning and remediation at scale.
- Benchmark various vendor, open source and in-house solutions for performance, cost and risk posture.
- Partner closely with Data and ML Scientists on features, experimentation, and monitoring of models.
- Partner closely with other engineering teams on the delivery of business outcomes through code.
- Integrate AI solutions into our technology platform, building from scratch where applicable.
- Engage in efforts to improve technical operations and processes of the team through automation.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- At least 1 year of professional software engineering experience, with strong coding skills in JVM-based languages (Java or Scala) and experience applying object-oriented design principles.
- Familiarity with distributed cloud-native engineering (AWS, GCP, or Azure), microservices, API development, SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Some knowledge of streaming and data processing frameworks such as Kafka, Flink and Spark.
- Experience in monitoring and debugging production-grade software.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders with or without a technical background.
Preferred Qualifications:- Some experience working with a variety of stakeholders: Product, Program, Data, ML Science and Quality control.
- Curiosity and a strong desire to learn, innovate and unlock the potential of modern AI-based productivity tools.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) to ship production software faster
- Experience working with LLMs, among other Gen AI solutions.
- Domain experience in risk and fraud within Marketplace, travel and e-commerce.
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $119,000.00 to $166,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $190,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
