Job Summary
The Senior Software Development Engineer will support hardware testing and validation environments by maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing existing software applications and tools. The role will focus on improving software quality, analyzing hardware-generated test data, optimizing testing workflows, and supporting software build and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer with strong Python expertise who can quickly understand existing codebases and work effectively at the intersection of software and hardware testing.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing software applications and tools supporting hardware development and testing.
• Analyze, process, and interpret hardware-generated test data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Develop data visualizations and reporting solutions to communicate test results effectively.
• Build and maintain data processing workflows and pipelines.
• Support and improve software build, deployment, and CI/CD processes.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to improve testing efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, change control processes, and software development best practices.
• Manage source code and version control using Git.
• Troubleshoot software and testing issues within existing codebases and implement sustainable solutions.
• Support hardware validation, verification, and testing activities as required.

Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of professional software engineering or related experience with Python.
• Senior-level proficiency in Python development and scripting.
• Critical experience working closely with hardware systems, testing environments, or hardware-generated data.
• Strong experience working in Linux-based environments.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing existing software codebases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, build systems, or software build pipeline processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively across hardware and software engineering teams.
• Willingness to work onsite in Redmond, WA, including up to 5 days per week onsite when required.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience processing, analyzing, and visualizing technical or test data.
• Strong understanding of Git and version control workflows.
• Experience with embedded systems or embedded software environments.
• Experience in aerospace, satellite, defense, or related engineering environments.
• Experience with NI TestStand or similar automated test platforms.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including code reviews and change management.
• Experience with C or C++.
• Experience with hardware validation, verification, or manufacturing test environments.
