Key job responsibilities
- Design & Build Scalable Ad Infrastructure: Architect and implement distributed systems for ad serving, targeting, rendering, and telemetry collection that support high concurrency with low-latency requirements.
- Drive Customer Obsession & Invent & Simplify: Deliver end-to-end solutions that enhance the Alexa user experience while driving value for advertisers. Continuously simplify complex workflows through automation, clear APIs, and robust tooling.

A day in the life
As an SDE on the Alexa Ads team, your work spans the full engineering lifecycle - from technical design and prototyping to production deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization. You'll architect scalable ad infrastructure, write production-grade code, and run data-driven experiments that directly impact the customer experience at scale. You'll lead architecture reviews, participate in rigorous code evaluations, and collaborate with product, data science, and partner teams to ship features that balance innovation with operational reliability. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
