Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities:

Position Overview:

Will work with the MES Software Engineer to design and develop improvements and new processes for all of our Manufacturing Execution Systems. Assist in the development of reports, Intranet development, and AI-enabled tools or automation that support business and manufacturing needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and modify MES applications.
    • Evaluate unit tests and their effectiveness for programs.
    • Create web reports using JQuery, Bootstrap, and/or angular.js.javascript libraries.
  • Update documents related to new programs or modify existing ones.
  • Responsible for MES development escalation.
    • Effectively create unit tests to find errors in programs with an error.
    • Develop software design documents based off of business requirements to effectively meet those requirements.
    • Manage the GIT source-code management tool.
  • Responsible for database design.
    • Plan and design effective databases based off of a given design document.
    • Perform database performance profiling tasks and identify bottlenecks.
    • Accurately make data-driven performance modifications.
  • Responsible for supporting code revision control.
  • Create design requirements using input from multiple business stakeholders. Design and format web pages to display data drawn from multiple databases.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools and AI-based solutions where appropriate to improve application development, testing, documentation, automation, and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation, and data-driven tools to improve MES support, reporting, troubleshooting, and business processes.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a MIS, CIS, or Computer Science; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of VB programs and re-engineering the programs in Vb.NET.
  • Working knowledge of Classic ASP. and PHP.
  • Working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools, prompt engineering concepts, and practical use of AI services/APIs in software development.

Special Knowledge and Skills:
  • 1 year of experience primarily responsible for change management of application source-code.
  • 1 year of integration experience with PLCs and other industrial automation equipment.
  • 1 year working with Oracle databases.
  • 3 years' experience in database design role.
  • 3 years' experience with ASP.NET and related .NET technologies.
  • 3 years' experience with asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) and JSON
  • Two (2) years' experience building web-based apps and multi-tiered distributed business apps.
  • 2-3 years' experience with MS SQL database design and administration
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with Visual Basic/ASP/JavaScript programming
  • Minimum 1 year experience with T-SQL queries, HTML
  • Must have experience using AI tools or AI services to support application development, reporting, automation, code review, testing, or documentation.
  • Experience reviewing AI-generated code or recommendations for accuracy, security, maintainability, and compliance with company standards.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networks, bar code printers and scanners, and RF data collection devices
  • Basic network/computer troubleshooting skills
  • Must have exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills needed
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions, including determining where AI or automation can provide value.
  • Strong technical writing skills preferred
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a team environment
