Your New Role

Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE) is the frontline owner of quality engineering process for Consumer Digital + Platform organization. We provide standardized process and tools to enhance the quality of applications for various WBD brands in News, Sports, and Entertainment verticals. We work closely with our brand partners and act as a center of expertise, best practice, and continuous improvement in the field of quality engineering. Quality is owned by the entire team. SETs are the frontline owners of quality processes, including the process of development, testing, and delivery.

As a Software Developer in Test II, you'll be responsible for ensuring quality releases of CNN Digital products. You'll contribute to test automation and all testing stages throughout SDLC. The ideal candidate has developed reliable automated suites and contributed to multiple stable and scalable product releases that have been running successfully in a production environment. Additionally, our SETs care about the user experience and have a passion for quality, learning, and collaboration.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Own and contribute to testing cycles from analysis, planning, and development, to execution, to ensure the application meets quality standards.
  • Define test approach and build test scenarios.
  • Pair up with senior engineers build automated tests that iterate upon what has already been written, as well as create new solutions.
  • Participate in test case and code reviews and provide input as needed via technical documentation, interaction with stakeholders, and other opportunities as needed.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges related to software testing, including diagnosing and debugging issues.
  • Follow best practices and cultivate a culture that is committed to quality through test automation.
  • Provide input to process improvement by considering the long-term health of our testing suites, both manual and automated. Work with other SETs to monitor and implement process and strategy changes that will maintain and improve the support of our applications.
  • Stay updated on the latest testing methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.


Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of software testing automation experience. Has proven ability to support quality product releases by implementing automation coverage as directed
  • Working knowledge of at least one test automation framework.
  • Working knowledge in one or more programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, etc.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of debugging tools and CI/CD process.
  • Conceptual thinking to understand complex issues and implications
  • Solid understanding and experience with multiple test types including unit, functional, integration, API, load and performance tests.
  • Strong Web domain knowledge
  • Working knowledge of digital payments project. Subscription lifecycle testing experience preferred.
  • Compliance testing knowledge of financial regulations and standards is nice to have
  • Good understanding of digital product development for web, mobile, ott, and backend infrastructure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with common software/testing tools such as Github, Jenkins, Charles Proxy, Postman, BrowserStack, etc


In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $69,000.00 - $104,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
