OCI is building a state-of-the-art elastic cloud with data centers in regions around the world. For OCI, networking is one of the critical and foundational pieces. Being empowered with the flexibility, reliability, and scalability of Virtual Networking, Cloud Applications and Cloud Platform enables Oracle's Enterprise customers to run their mission critical workload seamlessly on OCI. Within OCI, the Virtual Networking team is responsible for delivering innovative networks with high performance characteristics that exceed those of our competitors. As a member of the Virtual Network Interface Card as a Service (VNICaaS) team, you will take an active role in the design, implementation, and operation of highly available, massive scale, integrated cloud services in a distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment.

We're looking for hands-on engineers who enjoys solving interesting and challenging problems in high-performance distributed systems. Our group builds massively scalable, highly available virtual networking services that connect customer resources in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to internal and external networks and services.

As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will craft, implement, and operate components of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. If you're curious about good algorithms and how to implement them correctly and efficiently, you'll fit right in with our group.

Requirements:

- At least 5 years of experience with C/C++ programming in high-speed packet processing or for high-performance computing/networking systems (eg. optimizing CPU cycles, memory usage, high transaction rates with databases)
- Familiarity with network packet processing pipeline (Layer-2 switching, Layer-3 routing, Load balancing, Address translations) preferred.
- Experience with Embedded Linux systems is preferred
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms and ability to optimize those to support high scale architectures
- Working familiarity with network virtualization, network protocols and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of IaaS/SaaS concepts and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to contribute individually as well as provide direction and mentor others
- BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,800 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
