Qualifications

• Licensed in Maryland as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW).
• CPR certification required.
• Competence in working with diverse age groups and families.
• Focus on neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, plus some adults with disabilities.
• Master's degree from an accredited School of Social Work required.
• Experience in services for child welfare population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly psychotherapy and after-care services to foster children/adults and families.
• Attend interdisciplinary staffing to integrate evaluation information for comprehensive treatment planning.
• Collaborate with referring agencies to develop service plans for children/adults and families.
• Work with school systems to ensure proper educational services.
• Respond to juvenile court proceedings with progress reports as needed.
• Participate in peer consultation and clinical review sessions.
• Attend clinical training, treatment planning meetings, and administrative gatherings.
• Conduct home studies for applicant evaluations and recommendations.
• Train foster parents on effective caregiving techniques.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation and provide responsive care.
• Engage in departmental research and program development related to therapeutic foster care.
