The Opportunity

Flock Safety is a fast-growing, mission-driven company expanding rapidly across communities nationwide. As the business scales, Flock Safety is building its first dedicated social media team to support this growth and elevate how the brand shows up across channels.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the foundation of a social media program from the ground up, building, maintaining, and growing a cohesive strategy with a new team. In partnership with the Director of Social Media, this role will focus on developing creative, channel-specific content, fostering authentic community engagement, and reporting on performance to measure impact and inform future growth, all while supporting a rapidly expanding national footprint.

They will partner with teams across our business and see their work make an impact, for their career and for the safety of communities across the nation.

The Skillset
  • Platform Expertise Deep - Demonstrated comprehension of major social media platforms and their respective distinctions, including expertise in formats, algorithms, audience behavior, best practices, and emerging trends pertinent to each channel.
  • Creative Storytelling - Skilled in developing engaging, on-brand content that resonates with different audiences. This includes writing compelling copy, shaping narratives, and collaborating on visuals that feel native to each platform.
  • Content Planning & Execution - Strong organizational skills to manage content calendars, production timelines, approvals, and publishing. Ensures consistency, quality, and speed without sacrificing creativity.
  • Community Management - Ability to build and nurture an online community through active engagement. This includes responding to comments and messages, moderating discussions, and representing the brand with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Analytical & Reporting - Comfortable with data and performance metrics. Ability to track results, analyze trends, report on outcomes, and turn insights into actionable improvements for future content and campaigns.
  • Ownership & Initiative - Takes accountability for results and proactively identifies opportunities to improve, experiment, and scale. Especially critical in growing teams or first-of-its-kind roles.
  • Adaptability & Trend Awareness - Stays current in a fast-changing social landscape. Quickly adapts strategies based on new features, cultural moments, audience feedback, and performance insights.

90 Days at Flock

The First 30 Days
  • Focus on learning the brand, platforms, and workflows while supporting content creation, publishing, and community engagement. Build a strong understanding of social performance, goals, and how social supports the broader business.

The First 60 Days
  • Take ownership of day-to-day execution for one or more channels, including publishing, community management, and performance tracking. Begin contributing content ideas and insights that improve engagement and consistency across platforms.

90 Days & Beyond
  • Operate as a trusted owner of social channels, driving content planning, execution, and reporting with minimal oversight. Use performance insights to recommend optimizations and support scalable growth of the social media strategy.


Salary & Equity

In this role, you'll receive a starting salary between $100,000 - 130,000, as well as Flock Safety Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators.

Location

We're prioritizing candidates on the East Coast: Atlanta, Boston, and New York City. While we value the energy of our hub communities, we embrace remote work and welcome applications from exceptional talent across the United States.
