About the PositionThe Social Media Manager will transform social into a strategic business capability that builds industry influence, strengthens reputation, creates demand, and connects the organization with the audiences that matter most.
This role will define and lead the company's global social-media strategy across organic, paid, internal, and external channels. This role will create a distinctive, modern social presence that positions the organization as a trusted authority in the energy industry bringing technical expertise, customer insight, leadership perspectives, and market intelligence to life in compelling, human, and audience-first ways.
Working across Marketing, Communications, Revenue, Product, Peformance & Culture, and executive leadership, this individual will build the systems, capabilities, and culture required to make social an enterprise-wide engine for influence, engagement, employee advocacy, and commercial impact.
Primary Responsibilities: - Define and execute the global social-media strategy across priority organic and paid channels.
- Build the company's social presence as a trusted industry authority, creating engaging, audience-first content around market trends, technical expertise, customer stories, and thought leadership.
- Lead the development, creation, and distribution of platform-native social content, including executive thought leadership, video, visual assets, employee stories, event content, and customer advocacy.
- Own paid-social strategy and performance, including account targeting, audience development, campaign execution, optimization, budget management, and reporting.
- Partner with leaders and subject-matter experts to strengthen executive visibility and amplify technical expertise through social channels.
- Build and scale an employee-advocacy programme, providing clear content, guidance, and enablement for employees to engage authentically online.
- Manage social listening and community engagement, identifying relevant conversations, emerging trends, reputation risks, and opportunities to participate.
- Use AI-enabled tools and emerging technology to improve content speed, quality, personalization, social intelligence, and real-time engagement.
- Measure and optimize performance across reach, engagement, share of voice, audience growth, influence, account engagement, demand contribution, and brand impact.
- Work closely with Creative & Brand Marketing, Revenue Marketing, Product Marketing, and Communications to ensure social activity supports major campaigns, events, and commercial priorities.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications - 6+ years of experience in social media, digital strategy, brand, content, communications, or integrated marketing leadership.
- Experience building and scaling enterprise-level social-media programmes, ideally in B2B SaaS, technology, energy, or another complex and highly technical environment.
- Strong understanding of audience development, influence-building, community engagement, and content distribution across organic and paid social channels.
- Demonstrated experience developing executive communications and thought-leadership strategies for senior leaders and subject-matter experts.
- Proven ability to create distinctive, audience-first content and campaigns that simplify complex ideas and build trust with sophisticated audiences.
- Experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives, creating new operating models, and embedding capabilities across a global organization.
- Strong experience managing agencies, technology platforms, paid-media programmes, and analytics or social-listening tools.
- Demonstrated success using AI-enabled tools and emerging technology to innovate marketing workflows, content formats, personalization, or performance.
- Strong commercial and analytical judgment, with the ability to connect social activity to reputation, account engagement, demand creation, and business outcomes.
- Exceptional storytelling, communication, creative judgment, stakeholder-management, and leadership skills.
