Location Overview

Cboe HQ is located in the historic Old Post Office district, it’s a landmark that blends classic architecture with modern amenities. The building features expansive spaces with high ceilings and large windows, offering an abundance of natural light and panoramic views of the city skyline and the Chicago River.

With its prime location in the heart of downtown, the OPO Building provides easy access to major transportation hubs, including Union Station and multiple CTA lines, making it convenient for commuters. The building is home to a variety of amenities, including restaurants, a fitness center, and collaborative workspaces, creating a vibrant and dynamic work environment in one of Chicago's most iconic areas.

Role Overview

The Manager, Social Media is responsible for elevating Cboe’s presence in the social conversation.  This is a strategic, high visibility role – developing and managing the social media strategy that positions Cboe as an influential voice in global markets, running a social intelligence practice that informs decisions across businesses, and helping protect and strengthen Cboe’s brand across every channel.  Additionally, this role will oversee the day-to-day channel operations, and serves as the primary liaison between marketing, communications, and key business stakeholders to bring Cboe’s story to life every day.

What You’ll Do

Lead the strategy

  • Develop and execute an integrated social media strategy aligned with Cboe's marketing and communications objectives across brand and our core business lines
  • Establish channel-specific content plans, editorial calendars, and publishing cadences that reflect audience needs and platform best practices
  • Partner with the broader marketing team to ensure social media programs support brand campaigns, product launches, thought leadership initiatives, and key market events (e.g., bell ringings, product launches, regulatory milestones). Identify opportunities to expand Cboe's social presence on emerging or underutilized platforms

Run the channels

  • Oversee day-to-day content production and publishing across all owned channels (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) with a focus on quality, consistency, and compliance
  • Be the platform owner for Sprout Social, including the social listening module and community management capabilities
  • Collaborate with broader marketing and communications teams to produce high-quality assets optimized for each platform format
  • Manage the social media content review and approval workflow, ensuring timely clearance in partnership with legal, compliance, and subject matter experts
  • Maintain and enforce brand standards, tone guidelines, and regulated industry requirements across all social channels
  • Manage Cboe's executive social program: develop platform recommendations, content pipelines, and support for senior leaders and subject-matter experts to establish them as recognized voices on market structure, derivatives, volatility, and market trends

Analytics, Performance, Social Intelligence

  • Define and track KPIs for organic social programs, including engagement rate, reach, follower growth, share of voice, and campaign-specific metrics
  • Leverage social media management and analytics platforms (e.g., Sprout Social) to generate insights and inform optimization
  • Prepare regular performance reports for marketing leadership and business stakeholders, translating data into actionable recommendations
  • Run Cboe’s social listening practice:  manage tools and workflows that track brand health, sentiment, competitor activity, and emerging narratives across social platforms, forums, and financial communities 
  • Additionally, deliver intelligence reporting
  • Surface reputational risks and viral narratives early, escalating to leadership with recommended responses

The ideal candidate has

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in social media management
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-channel social programs for a B2B or financial services organization
  • Proficiency with social media management platforms (e.g., Sprout Social) and native platform analytics
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt voice and messaging across channels and audiences
  • Experience working in a regulated industry with content review and compliance workflows
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into strategy adjustments
  • Experience managing executive social media programs or thought leadership content

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $-$, with actual compensation determined by job‑related factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal alignment, and location.

 

 

This role may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long-term equity programs.
