The Role:

The Corporate Marketing team is responsible for growing the Blue Owl brand and supporting the firm in its ambition to be one of the preeminent firms in the asset management industry. Our goal is to raise the firm's visibility by using our global marketing and communications platform to support our firm, its publicly-traded vehicles, and its sales and client marketing efforts. We seek to deliver the most effective, innovative, and scalable ways to express the traits that set Blue Owl apart.

We are hiring a Vice President of Social Media to join the Corporate Marketing team. We are looking for a smart, entrepreneurial professional to take on this new role and lead the firm's global social media strategy and execution, creating a centralized framework that elevates our brand presence, strengthens audience engagement, and drives measurable commercial impact. This is a builder role, responsible for both the strategy and the content that brings it to life. You will help expand the firm's social presence by unifying our social strategy, operationalizing processes, and curating engaging content. This role requires hands-on content development, including writing platform-native copy, collaborating with internal and external content contributors and stakeholders, and guiding and creating visually compelling social assets.

In this role, you will own the end-to-end execution of social content, acting as both project manager and creative lead, responsible for concepting, writing, and shaping social content, ensuring each post reflects a high standard of visual storytelling and brand messaging. You will manage the global calendar, workflows, reviews, and approvals, and be the point person bringing social media plans to life. This will require building strong working relationships Client Marketing, Brand, Content, and Video teams, as well as senior leadership, Legal, and Compliance.

This role requires a mix of creativity and discipline: you are equally comfortable managing detailed workflows, calendars, and documentation as you are shaping the voice, tone, and visual style of our social content, ensuring social media meaningfully supports broader marketing and business objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global social media strategy that aligns with Blue Owl's business objectives, reinforces brand positioning, and drives measurable commercial impact globally.
  • Lead the concepting, writing, and development of high-quality, social-first content across all social media channels, ensuring platform-native copy, compelling visual assets, and cohesive brand storytelling to capture attention and drive engagement.
  • Plan, execute, and optimize social media campaigns, leveraging data and performance insights to continuously refine strategy and exceed key growth metrics.
  • Partner with Client Marketing, business leaders, and subject matter experts to translate complex investment themes into clear, engaging, and visually compelling social narratives.
  • Collaborate with Brand Strategy to define and maintain a on-brand voice, visual identity, and messaging framework across all social platforms.
  • Partner with Communications and Compliance on community management: developing clear governance protocols and response strategies to manage potential risks across social channels.
  • Establish clear performance benchmarks and frameworks, translating analytics into actionable insights and executive-level recommendations that demonstrate social media's contribution to business objectives, regularly presenting findings to senior leadership. Analyze data to gain insights into audience behavior, preferences, and trends, and use them to inform strategy and decision-making.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience building and scaling social media programs for global brands, including executive branding and employee advocacy initiatives.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing high-impact social strategies, with the ability to clearly articulate ROI and influence to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in the financial services or similarly technical and regulated industries is a plus, with an understanding of compliance considerations in social communications.
  • Deep domain expertise and understanding of social platforms, their roadmaps, user behavior, and emerging trends, with a point of view on how they shape brand perception and should be reflected in our strategy and content.
  • Expert at insights, analyzing the performance of social content, search trends, cultural relevance, etc. to implement recommendations for the improvement and optimization of content and channel best practices.
  • Experience with: Hootsuite or a similar social media management platform; Canva or a similar design platform and comfortable creating visually compelling communications.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, platform-native copy.
  • Experience building processes, governance frameworks, and scalable content operations within complex organizations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently, drive clarity in ambiguous environments, and build relationships and consensus across cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Works effectively in a lean, high-impact team environment; proactively offers support, partners well across functions, steps up to help wherever needed, and contributes to collective wins.

The base annual salary range for this New York-based position will be $150,000 to $175,000. Actual salary offered will be based on the candidate's skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
