Full Job Description
The Smart Factory Engineer at Schneider Electric in El Paso, TX, is a critical role focused on optimizing systems integration, design, and performance for the new El Paso plant. Reporting to the Digital Transformation Manager, this role bridges the gap between physical manufacturing equipment and digital cloud infrastructure to drive our Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) strategy.

What Will You Do?
  • EcoStruxure Deployment & Adoption: Drive the sustained adoption and deployment of Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure platforms across the facility, ensuring the site maximizes the value, scalability, and performance of our standard digital ecosystem.
  • Cross-Functional Technical Coaching: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to other departments as they implement digital solutions and smart manufacturing initiatives across the campus.
  • Equipment Integration: Take responsibility for the integration and delivery of digital/natively connected equipment from manufacturing to our Schneider Electric plants.
  • Connectivity Management: Ensure all Gateway devices are fully configured and ready to communicate data both downstream and upstream (from the manufacturing plant to the SE Cloud).
  • Digital Architecture & Strategy: Verify planned equipment configurations against existing digital architecture and help influence future architectural strategies as technology evolves.
  • Assessments: Lead and conduct comprehensive digital manufacturing qualification assessments.

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Industry Experience: 3+ years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Expertise (3+ years):
    • Extensive experience with IIoT architectures and data communication devices, including networking, wireless devices, gateways, routers, and cloud servers.
    • A strong background in wireless communications protocols, digital device test applications, and system integration documentation.
    • Deep knowledge of standard industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN, Profibus, MQTT).
    • Proficiency in database management and data visualization, specifically utilizing SQL and Business Intelligence platforms (Tableau).
    • Bonus: Strong programming skills, particularly in Python or Node.js.
  • Professional Skills: Proven ability to work independently within a cross-functional (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, manufacturing operations), multicultural, and virtual environment.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 86,400 - USD 120,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
