Role SummaryThe Site Safety Manager in responsible for leading site safety programs and supporting safe execution with project teams, field supervision, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities- Regulatory compliance -Applies OSHA, Cal-OSHA, and project safety requirements across active jobsites.
- Project-specific safety plans / hazard analyses - Prepares project safety plans, JHAs/JSAs, permits, and related hazard controls for planned work.
- Training and orientation program - Leads orientation, toolbox meetings, and ongoing safety training for project teams.
- Safety records / documentation - Maintains inspection, training, incident, and corrective-action records.
- Jobsite inspections / audits - Conducts regular site inspections, audits, and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Tailgate / toolbox / stretch-and-flex - Leads or verifies daily toolbox meetings and stretch-and-flex routines as required.
- Monitoring critical risk controls - Monitors PPE, fall protection, excavation, confined space, traffic control, and equipment safety.
- Incident response / investigation - Investigates incidents, near misses, and required reporting; support corrective action follow-through.
- Environmental duties -Supports environmental compliance, material handling, and spill-response coordination when assigned.
- Planning / meetings / production interface - Integrates safety into planning, sequencing, pre-task reviews, and coordination meetings.
- Risk escalation / leadership coaching - Coaches supervisors, reinforces accountability, and escalates serious risk.
Qualifications- Education - Degree in Safety, EHS, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience level -5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil, public works, utility, or industrial work.
- Certifications -OSHA 30 required; CHST preferred; CPR/First Aid/AED and related certifications a plus.
- Communication / leadership skills - Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills; bilingual Spanish a plus.
- Technology / reporting tools -Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital safety reporting tools.
- Independence / supervision -Able to work independently across multiple active jobsites.
- Project access / travel / physical requirements - Travels to jobsites and meet field physical demands.
