Full Job Description
Summary:
The Site Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the site, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting. This role partners closely with site leadership and corporate finance to support sound business decisions, maintain strong internal controls, and drive continuous improvement in financial processes. They serve as a key business partner to operations while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the site-level accounting operations, including general ledger activity, month-end and year-end close processes, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review accurate, timely financial statements and management reports for site leadership and corporate finance.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze site budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and other functional leaders to provide financial insight that supports business decisions.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards.
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation.
  • Analyze cost trends, margins, and operational performance, providing actionable recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Support inventory accounting, standard costing, and physical inventory processes as applicable to the site.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements relevant to the site's operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop site accounting staff.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
  • Administer lease accounting tools and appropriate journal entries for the site.
  • Keep apprised of international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations to ensure global and domestic compliance. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in accounting.


Education & Credentials:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 16+ years of related experience; or
  • Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field and 12+ years of related experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, computer science, or a related field and 10+ years of related experience; or
  • MBA or master's degree in accounting or finance and 8+ years of related experience.
  • 8+ years in progressive leadership roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
