Responsibilities
NV5 is seeking a Civil / Site Engineer 6 Project Manager to support the growth of our Philadelphia practice. This role offers the opportunity to lead civil/site engineering projects in the public and private realm while working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
The position will initially focus on managing and delivering civil engineering design for park, trail, higher-education, and community redevelopment projects, working closely with landscape architects, planners, and fellow engineers. Over time, this role is expected to take on broader leadership responsibility, helping to expand NV59s site-civil capabilities in the Philadelphia region with an emphasis on sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
- Manage civil/site engineering projects through planning, design, permitting, and construction
- Develop site layouts, grading and drainage plans, utility designs, and stormwater management systems
- Coordinate closely with internal disciplines and external stakeholders
- Oversee scope, schedule, budget, and quality control
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and agencies
- Mentor junior staff and support team development
- Assist with proposals and business development efforts as needed
Qualifications
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or similar)
- Approximately 8+ years of civil/site engineering experience
- 2+ years of experience leading projects or technical teams
- Strong background in site design, stormwater management, permitting, and construction documentation
- Experience in the planning and design of urban stormwater management systems within public rights-of-ways as well as private development sites
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Master9s degree in engineering or related field
- Experience preparing technical proposals and fee estimates
- Proficiency with Civil 3D, HydroCAD, SWMM, StormCAD, or similar tools
- Familiarity with GIS concepts
- Sustainability-focused credentials or training (LEED, Envision, DBIA, etc.)
