Full Job Description
THE WORK

Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sim Controller Operator to oversee the simulation control position during mission execution at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center - Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis Air Force Base (AFB), NV.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of simulation missions, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with the Test and Mission Director to resolve any anomalies that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the simulation control position during mission execution, ensuring all systems and services are functioning correctly.
• Bring up and initiate resets for Simulation Missions as needed.
• Monitor servers and services to ensure they are operating correctly, and notify the Test or Mission Director if any anomalies persist.
• Perform server and services resets during mission execution as required.
• Collaborate with Mission Team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in on-the-job training and spin-up to become familiar with the simulation control position and its responsibilities.

Provides technical and operational services to support electronic and mechanical devices used for training personnel under simulated flying conditions. Troubleshoots complex technical IT problems and issues, determines technical solution. Maintains simulator documentation to include drawings, instructions, parts and software listings, by keeping them current, edited, and revised for future releases. Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, sets up administrator and user accounts, maintains current system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Performs workstation Network Administration on all networks and ensures compliance to include upgrading, patching, and conducting weekly AV installs. Monitors policies and standards for all locations related to the use of computing resources and coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

Basic Qualifications
• A current active Top Secret Level Clearance with an investigation completed within the last 5 years is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI and relevant SAP/SAR Clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field OR High School Diploma OR equivalent experience/combined education.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Fundamental understanding of military surface to air missile systems.
• Understanding of Air Force terminology to implement/emulate realistic red forces for test and training.
• Ability to perform tasks that require prolonged computer use, occasional lifting and movement of equipment, and fine motor skills with hand-eye coordination.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to think critically and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.

Desired Skills
• Previous or active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Advanced understanding of military surface to air missile systems.
• Experience with Digital Integrated Air Defense System (DIADS) Software.
• Military experience with aviation and combat systems.
• Advanced aircraft simulator experience and scenario development.
• Experience with Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) and familiarity with its software components (NGTS, WSCE, DIADS, EAAGLES, GRID, Shot Log, ART, and SCE).
• Experience with simulation systems and mission execution.
• Familiarity with IT principles and concepts.
• Familiarity with Linux Red Hat.
• Previous experience as a DIADS Operator or in a similar role.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
