Position Introduction/Key Duties

Cimarron is seeking a Simulation Software Engineer to support the Orion program with NASA in either Houston, TX or Denver, CO. The Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle is NASA's next-generation spacecraft built to carry astronauts beyond low-Earth orbit - back to the Moon and eventually to Mars. As part of the Artemis program, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the simulation software that supports crew training and spacecraft testing remains reliable and defectfree across both Artemis 3 and Artemis 4. If you are driven by a passion for space exploration and want your work to directly support the future of human spaceflight, apply today!

Key Duties:
  • Investigate software defects and develop product updates for Orion MPCV Simulation and SOCRRATES software across Artemis 3 and Artemis 4 sustainment efforts.
  • Perform defect resolution for code errors identified after verification is complete, spanning artifacts from Systems Engineering, Production, and Test and Verification.
  • Track and update defect status in Jira through closure, maintaining accurate records throughout the resolution lifecycle.
  • Update software documentation as needed to reflect defect fix changes.
  • Provide continued code correction and maintenance throughout software use in test and flight operations.
  • Resolve DDT&E Defect Deferrals to OPOC for both Artemis 3 and Artemis 4 program increments.
  • Deliver monthly status reports on all assigned tasks.
