Primary Function
Under general supervision, functionally supervises, coordinates, monitors and maintains the electrical reliability of the interconnection transmission system operations and activities; ensures the stable and reliable operation of the district's balancing authority and interconnected operating entities bulk electric system; prioritizes, schedules and directs assigned staff in the coordination of the balancing authority and transmission system operations; oversees transmission service agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPP) and is the liaison in matters of district real-time operations with adjacent balancing authorities, Western Electric Coordinating Council (WECC) reliability coordinator and other operating entities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in business, economics, engineering, or related field and five years of progressively responsible electric utility operations or transmission service experience of an interconnected electrical system and related equipment.

Progressively responsible directly related experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education in electric utility operations or transmission service experience of an interconnected electrical system and related equipment.

Licensing & Certification Requirements

North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Certification, BITO or RO and district certification and maintain NERC certification through the NERC continuing education process required.

Veteran's Preference (External Applicants Only): Submit DD form 214 or other evidence of veterans' status by the job posting deadline.

Other Requirements/Testing
EEI System Operator/Power Dispatcher (SOPD II) pre-employment test.
