Position Summary: The B-Shift Shift Leader for Payload Accommodations Vertical and Clean Integration is responsible for leading a fast-paced, rate-driven manufacturing environment during second shift operations. This role ensures execution across cost, quality, schedule, and safety while supporting increasing production demands and workforce growth. The shift leader will oversee payload integration activities within clean environments and vertical build operations, leading a multifunctional team to drive performance to meet program objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead B-shift production operations in Payload Accommodations and Clean Integration work centers
- Ensure adherence to cost, quality, schedule, and safety (CQSS) targets during evening operations
- Supervise and support a team of production employees, ensuring proper staffing and coverage for B-shift
- Coordinate across multifunctional teams (engineering, quality, supply chain, planning) to resolve issues and maintain flow during shift transitions
- Drive on-time delivery across multiple shipsets in payload integration and vertical build structures
- Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to address gaps
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and compliance with all safety requirements, particularly in clean room environments
- Ensure payload integration quality standards are met and reduce defects/rework
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new B-shift employees as production ramps
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce cost
- Communicate status, risks, and recovery plans to leadership and A-shift counterparts
- Maintain strict clean room protocols and procedures for payload integration activities
Basic Qualifications: - Experience in manufacturing, production, or operations leadership
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong understanding of rate production and workflow management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work B-shift hours
- Experience with clean room operations or cleanroom protocol adherence
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in aerospace or complex assembly manufacturing
- Background leading multifunctional teams
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement principles •
- Experience managing tiered production builds or multiple shipsets
- Familiarity with production metrics and performance tracking tools
- Experience in payload integration, satellite components, or sensitive equipment handling
- Previous experience leading evening/night shift operations
