Job Summary
The Senior SharePoint Administrator will design, build, administer, and operationalize enterprise collaboration platforms, with a focus on modernizing mission-critical environments and delivering secure, scalable SharePoint and Microsoft Power Platform solutions. The role will work directly with business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into effective solutions, provide technical leadership and mentorship to SharePoint teams, and ensure platform architecture, configurations, and solutions comply with applicable security, governance, and modernization requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect modern intranet portals, document management repositories, and automated business processes using SharePoint and Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps.
• Serve as a technical liaison between PMO, Architecture, business stakeholders, and technical teams to drive enterprise collaboration adoption.
• Ensure custom solutions and third-party integrations align with organizational IT policies, governance standards, and modernization strategies.
• Administer and govern SharePoint environments, including SharePoint Online and SharePoint Server, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability.
• Implement access governance and automated compliance scanning for sensitive organizational data.
• Ensure SharePoint platform components meet applicable CJIS and COV requirements for authentication, authorization, logging, and auditability.
• Maintain cloud governance artifacts, operational standards, runbooks, and architecture decision records for the SharePoint ecosystem.
• Establish consistent SharePoint configuration, site architecture, permissions, branding, and user experience across divisions.
• Supervise and mentor junior SharePoint administrators, developers, and support staff.
• Prioritize SharePoint team activities based on business and organizational needs.
• Establish and enforce secure development standards, deployment practices, and automated testing for SharePoint Framework (SPFx) solutions.
• Lead peer code reviews and architectural design sessions to improve team capabilities and maintain solution quality.
• Ensure SharePoint solutions and platform configurations are well documented, maintainable, and operationally sustainable.
• Support cloud adoption initiatives by establishing best practices for SaaS/PaaS collaboration tools.
• Log, track, prioritize, and manage SharePoint work requests through centralized processes.
• Establish feedback loops with users and stakeholders to drive continuous improvements to SharePoint functionality.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of IT infrastructure and platform engineering experience with dedicated enterprise SharePoint Administration experience.
• Strong experience administering SharePoint Online and SharePoint Server 2016/2019.
• Proven experience working with business stakeholders to design and implement complex SharePoint and Power Platform solutions.
• Experience supervising and leading technical teams and mentoring junior developers or administrators.
• Strong understanding of identity integration, compliance-driven governance, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft products including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, prioritization, judgment, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to balance immediate operational needs with long-term planning and execution.

Preferred Qualifications
• State or local government IT experience, including VITA compliance, procurement regulations, and cloud migration strategies.
• Advanced proficiency with SharePoint Framework (SPFx), PowerShell scripting, and Microsoft Graph API integrations.
• Experience integrating identity and access controls such as Okta, CyberArk, and Microsoft/Azure AD into provisioning workflows.
• Familiarity with CJIS, COV, or similar security and compliance frameworks.
• Experience establishing SaaS/PaaS collaboration platform best practices.
Certifications
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate certification required.
• Microsoft 365 administrator certification required.
• Microsoft Power Platform Developer or similar Microsoft certification preferred.
