The Role: On 4 Central, you will care for adult patients with a broad spectrum of acute medical conditions, developing strong clinical judgment and cross-specialty knowledge. This is a unit that keeps your skills sharp and your practice evolving.
In this role, you can expect:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care for patients with conditions including:
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment plans and optimize outcomes
- Rely on a free-floating Charge Nurse on every shift , providing real-time support, guidance, and clinical leadership
- Engage in critical thinking, prioritization, and rapid decision-making in a dynamic acute care environment
What does an average day look like? - Starting your shift with a structured handoff, ensuring continuity and clarity in patient care
- Managing a balanced assignment that allows you to practice thoughtfully, not reactively
- Partnering with physicians, case managers, and specialists to coordinate patient progression and discharge planning
- Leaning on your Charge Nurse for escalation support and operational alignment
- Closing your shift knowing you were able to provide safe, attentive, and impactful care without compromising quality
Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The pay range for this role is $39.90 - $53.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
