Position SummaryThe Director of Human Resources is responsible for all human resources-related functions in the assigned local school district(s). Works with the Executive Director for Human Resources and Deputy Superintendent to coordinate and manage human resources services and projects related to assignment.
Minimum Qualifications- Education: Master's degree in human resources, organizational development, business administration, management, or a related field required; relevant coursework in personnel, school law, labor relations, benefits, or HR management required. Valid Michigan teacher certificate preferred.
- Experience: Five years of successful experience in human resources, personnel management, recruitment, compensation, labor relations, or equivalent HR work required; recent HR department experience preferred.
- Coordinates and manages day-to-day human resources functions for assigned districts, including employment, transfers, reassignments, orientation, benefits, leave administration, and employee records.
- Oversees recruitment and hiring processes, including job postings, applicant tracking systems, substitute staffing, hard-to-fill position initiatives, and efforts to recruit a workforce representative of district demographics.
- Ensures HR practices comply with board policies, administrative guidelines, collective bargaining agreements, grant requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Conducts criminal record reviews, supports employment and termination recommendations, and serves as Title IX Coordinator, including investigating complaints and recommending resolutions.
- Coordinates employee training, professional development, skill assessments, retraining programs, student teacher/intern placements, and substitute orientation and training.
- Demonstrates strong leadership, integrity, discretion, professionalism, and customer service while managing competing priorities, sensitive matters, district relationships, and attendance at meetings or events as required.
Compensation & BenefitsPay Range: $100,000 - $115,000 annually,commensurate with qualifications and experience
Work Schedule: 261 days, 7.5 hours per day
