Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and proactive individual to join our team as an Associate Project Manager for Services activities in Toronto.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our bids and projects managers for our worldwide signaling installed-base opportunities. This would be an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is eager to develop further their career in project management.

Key Responsibilities:

Services bids & Projects
  • Support Project managers to coordinate various team members into delivering as per schedule and financial objectives. For low criticality Work Packages, the Services Associate Project Manager is expected to manage and coordinate internal and external interfaces/Stakeholders
  • Support Project Managers to kickoff, manage and close projects in accordance with contractual requirements and company processes
  • Support to respond to RFQs/RFPs and/or any other Customer's Requests, applies company bid process
  • Assist projects managers in organizing, prioritizing, and tracking project activities. For small offers, be the bid & project manager
  • Prepare regular progress reports related to bids and projects where support is provided, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and performance indicators
  • Prepares reports for management review and liaises at all levels within the company
  • Identifies and manage Opportunities and Risks
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing best practices for project management within the team

For Low Criticality Projects:
  • Lead the team to create an appropriately detailed schedule and then use that schedule and critical path to manage the execution of the project
  • Evaluate the need for "out of scope" work in-light of strategic project additional opportunities
  • Enforcing policies and procedures to ensure no unauthorized work is being conducted
  • Seek out and secure opportunities for variation orders to increase the project margin
  • Work with Department Managers to review resource requirements (such as Resource Loading Forecast exercises, etc.) and assist in managing and addressing cost overrun / underruns
  • Lead progress meetings and project reviews
  • Prepare and present progress report and associated KPIs

Support to Account Management:
  • Support Project Managers to maintain Account Plans
  • Analyze customer feedback, performance indicators, operating reports. Produce and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Compares KPI with targets set internally and externally
  • Support a continual service improvement approach. Monitor the proper execution of agreed action plans to improve the quality of the service provided /perceived by the Customer or to reduce the associated costs
  • Support the monitoring of obsolescence & impact on installed-base configuration


Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in either Business or any Engineering, Electrical, Electronic or any Related streams
  • 2+ year of Project/Operational management experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Able to develop schedule and to identify dependencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Curious, autonomous, eager to learn
  • Need to be legally authorized to work in Canada and also currently located in Canada
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English


Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Rail / Signaling experience
  • Customer service and marketing/sales experience
  • Obsolescence management experience
  • MS Project, Primavera skills
  • Project Management certification (IPMA, PMP)

Salary Range: $92,000- $118,100
