ServiceNow CMDB Engineer

Are you interested in helping to protect our nation's cyber interests? Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a ServiceNow CMDB Engineer in Herndon, Virginia.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to assist with the maturing of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) efforts. Work will primarily involve the development, deployment, and maintenance of CMDB integrations and ServiceNow discovery schedules in coordination with service providers to improve the quality of the CMDB in support of ZTA goals. In particular, the engineers will populate ZTA relevant attributes on Configuration Items (CIs).

This involves:
  • General understanding of IT and related device types (servers, routers, cloud, etc.)
  • Understanding of configuration item data sources
  • Working with other CMDB stakeholders to ensure data integrity
  • Creating and scheduling necessary discovery jobs
  • Maintaining and updating integrations, as needed, to accommodate data source changes
  • Supporting ZTA tasks by providing Customer management required information to support basic and intermediate evolutions


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 11 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors or Masters degree
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow Development Platform including, but not limited to, CMDB, Asset Management, Change Management, Integration Hub, and Custom Development
  • Ability to Customize and configure ServiceNow application and facilitate the rollout of new applications and modules
  • Ability to Configure Application UI and Configure Workflow to include integration and discovery in support of ZTA efforts
  • Capable of building integrations utilizing REST/SOAP web services, JDBC/SQL
  • Understanding of JSON and XML data formats
  • Understanding of basic ZTA principles
  • Experience working as part of an Agile team utilizing JIRA to demonstrate completed work within sprints

What you can expect from us

  • The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $175,000 - 195,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
