Service Transition Project Manager

Remote

Position Overview

You will be a member of the Global Service Team reporting to Sr. Service Project Manager; the Service Transition Project Manager leads the transition of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) from commission into Long-term Operations and Maintenance under LTSA contracts. This remote role ensures structured service readiness while supporting engineering activities during early operations, enabling smooth handover, technical stability, and readiness for high-performance service delivery to Field Service Teams on Battery Energy Storage Systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Commissioning Service Transition
• Follow the LTSA Transition & Turnover Procedure to develop and own the Service Transition Plan including actions tracker, checklists, acceptance criteria, and milestones.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, Commissioning engineers, Customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve punch items.
• Manage alignment of warranty scope, contractual obligations and handoffs, and service-level activation timelines, representative of service team to join Project Execution team and guidelines for delivering preventative and corrective maintenance services

O&M Readiness & Documentation Handover
• Develop the O&M project kick-off report, collect commercial information and technical documents from commercial manager and service engineering team to study the site maintenance flexibility to achieve the availability assurance and guaranteed performance plan.

Oversee structured handover of all technical documentation from Service Engineering and Project Execution teams.
• Ensure scheduled phase gate review are under tracking and aligned with procedure guidelines and Project Execution plan.
• Ensure onsite service infrastructure, spare parts, equipment, tools, remote access, digital tools, and EHS readiness are in place.
• Support onboarding of service technicians with training conducted and receive all system access.

Service Engineering & Field Support
• Develop resource plan to provide field engineering support to onsite team for early-stage issues.
• Support setup and verification of monitoring systems and KPI baselining tools.
• Identify and develop service maintenance equipment, tools and fixtures required to perform preventative and corrective maintenance at planned site with deep understanding of the specific site weather condition, site layout and terrain.
• Collaborate with the Service Engineering team on the onsite manpower study based on time study and development of Semiannual and Annual PM Master Schedule according to O&M OEM Manuals and procedures, preventative maintenance checklists, troubleshooting guides, safety procedures and other service documentation.
• Provide digital tools system onboarding plan with support of Commercial Managers, and EMS/Cloud team.

Performance & Warranty Alignment
• Ensure readiness actions tracker is baselined before LTSA starts aligned with Project Execution milestone.
• Collaborate with Commercial Managers and Contract Managers to ensure contractual obligations and align warranty responsibilities to be executed.
• Initiate issue tracker and operational risk registers.

Continuous Improvement & Lessons Learned
• Facilitate post-transition reviews and gather field feedback.
• Recommend design-for-serviceability enhancements.

Success Metrics
• LTSA commencement achieved on time with full readiness package.
• No missing documentation or tooling at handover to transition closure.
• Early-life issues resolved with minimal downtime on O&M.
• CMMS and applicable digital tools operational and validated.
• Clear technical ownership Division of Responsibility is defined and accepted.

Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required:
  • Experience on project management in renewable energy industry.
  • Experience and solid knowledge of Operation and Maintenance of Battery Energy Storage Systems.
  • Excellent personnel management skills.
  • Ability to interface well with customers and team members in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving experience or Lean background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Office tools Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Desired (Not Required):
  • Engineering experience with energy storage and power conversion systems.
  • Knowledge or understanding of generation, transmission, and distribution in electric grid systems.
  • Understanding of computer networks.
  • Certifications: preferred PMP, OSHA 30, NFPA 72E.


Education/Experience/Work Environment
  • Education: B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power/Energy Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years in renewable energy or utility-scale power systems, preferred in BESS.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to engage directly with team members, customers, vendors on project locations
