Job Title: Service Training Specialist - Technician Experience

Location: Flexible within major cities in North America and Canada. This is a remote position with travel.

About the Role

As our Service Training Specialist - Technician Experience, you will leverage your field and leadership experience to develop the next generation of elevator technicians and supervisors. You will plan and conduct training programs covering service, maintenance, repair methods, and operational processes.

Working closely with Service Operations, you will identify competency gaps, develop targeted learning solutions, and help ensure technicians and supervisors have the skills required to effectively perform their work.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on elevator industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching, training, or developing elevator personnel.
  • Strong service operations knowledge with demonstrated technical troubleshooting expertise.
  • Strong understanding of elevator industry workflows, field processes, tools, and digital applications.
  • Proven ability to influence and develop technicians through formal or informal leadership.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience as a Service Supervisor, Service Manager, Repair Supervisor, Construction Supervisor, Lead Mechanic, Adjuster, Technical Support Specialist, Field Trainer, or similar elevator industry role.
  • Experience delivering technical training in classroom, virtual, field, or on-the-job environments.
  • Experience developing training materials, job aids, assessments, procedures, or learning programs.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated passion for safety, quality, technician and supervisor development, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct technical training programs for technicians covering both new and existing service methods.
  • Collaborate with Service Operations leaders and field management teams to identify competency development needs.
  • Develop and localize training programs to support regional business needs.
  • Utilize field leadership experience to ensure training content reflects real-world technician challenges and best practices.
  • Support competency assessments, certification programs, skills evaluations, and development planning.
  • Coach technicians and frontline leaders in support of operational excellence initiatives.
  • Maintain and analyze organizational and individual training records to measure training effectiveness.
  • Understand workflows and operational processes down to the detailed steps and system transactions required to perform each task.
  • Partner with safety, quality, and operational stakeholders to reinforce company standards and expectations.
  • Stay current on developments in elevator technology, service methods, technician and supervisor development, and adult learning practices.
  • Ensure all training facilities, events, and learning experiences meet KONE standards.

They have a proven track record of leading, supervising, and developing elevator technicians. Their combination of technical expertise and leadership experience enables them to effectively train, coach, and influence both technicians and frontline supervisors while driving a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Annual pay range

This role has been categorized as a remote position. Remote employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any location within the area of the role's scope of responsibility. The national hiring range for this role is $120,300 - $157,920. We would like candidates from the following cities: Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville, and Knoxville.

The compensation package offered will depend on candidate's ability to meet the requirements of the role, needs for the business strategy, and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.

Variable Compensation

KONE Annual Bonus plan at 15% Target Incentive (60/40) based on achievement of company goals and individual goals.
