Job Description:

This role offers an exciting opportunity as part of a global team to contribute to the advancement of innovative immersive and digital learning solutions within a global extended enterprise environment. The successful candidate will provide oversight of immersive learning technologies that support virtual reality experiences, animations, video-based learning, and other modern training solutions. In partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, including IT, Legal, Digital, instructional design, and external vendors, this position helps ensure these platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards. This is a highly collaborative role with meaningful impact on how emerging technologies are responsibly adopted to enhance learning and workforce capability across the organization. 

As an Service Technology Specialist (Immersive Learning Systems)you will be responsible for providing system training and support for Caterpillar dealers, participating in global software tool selection teams, and developing online system performance support resources. This position is part of an experienced, specialized IT team that manages multiple learning software platforms that work together to deliver a global learning ecosystem.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the day-to-day management and support of immersive learning platforms and digital training solutions, including virtual reality, animation, video-based learning, and online performance support tools 
  • Administer platform configuration, user access, technical readiness, governance practices, and support processes to maintain system performance, usability, and compliance with enterprise standards 
  • Partner with internal and external vendors, organizations, and cross-functional teams to evaluate capabilities, manage support, resolve issues, and deliver effective learning technology solutions 
  • Provide learning system training and support to Cat dealers, while assisting in the design, development, and implementation of processes, interfaces, and tools that enhance learner experience and business capability 
  • Participate in global teams to research, assess, and implement emerging learning technologies and tools that support people development professionals and organizational performance 
  • Assist in interpreting guidelines, addressing learning technology issues, applying performance improvement metrics, and responding to organizational development needs with practical learning solutions 


What You Have (Basic Requirements):

• Education Requirement: College/university degree or 2 to 3 years of job-related experience accepted in lieu of a degree 

• Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. 
 
• Service Excellence: 
Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner. 
 
• Consulting: 
Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately. 
 
• Effective Communications: 
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. 
 
• Problem Solving: 
Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. 
 
• Relationship Management: 
Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. 
 
• Technical Excellence: 
Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. 

What Will Set You Apart (Top Candidates Will Have):

  • Experience supporting learning technology platforms in a corporate or global environment, with the ability to balance technical administration, user support, and business needs 
  • Familiarity with immersive learning technologies such as virtual reality, interactive media, or digital learning tools, along with a strong interest in emerging training solutions 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across IT, legal, vendors, and business teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and deliver scalable solutions 
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret requirements, manage multiple priorities, and support continuous improvement initiatives

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
