ENERCON is seeking a
Service Site Manager to provide strong, people-focused leadership at our Niagara service site in Wellandport, Ontario. This is a
fully on-site position responsible for day-to-day operations, coaching and developing technicians, ensuring clear communication, and maintaining a safe, collaborative, and high-performance work environment.
In this role, you will oversee operations for a
77-turbine wind farm, lead a team of
eight technicians, and cultivate a positive team culture through a coaching-oriented leadership approach. You will play a key role in strengthening the relationship with the site owner, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting our broader regional service network.
Work location: On-site in Wellandport, ON
Travel: Occasional travel to our Regional Head Office in Montréal for meetings, trainings, and Service team events; support to our Service team in Limoges, ON when needed; occasional travel to ENERCON Headquarters in Germany may be required.
Job schedule: Full time Monday to Friday (40 hours / week) + on-call rotation and occasional overtime
Key responsibilitiesLeadership, coaching & people management- Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and guidance to a team of wind turbine technicians.
- Conduct performance evaluations, development planning, coaching conversations, and corrective actions when required.
- Build a collaborative, inclusive, respectful workplace environment aligned with ENERCON values.
- Support continuous learning, team capability development, and technical mentorship.
Health, safety & compliance- Promote and uphold ENERCON's Health & Safety program, ensuring strict compliance with OH&S legislation and safe-work procedures.
- Ensure proper safe practices for working at heights, fall protection, LOTO, and equipment safety. (according to provincial OH&S laws.)
- Oversee site access for contractors, subcontractors, and visitors.
Operational execution & Technical oversight- Supervise daily maintenance activities, ensuring turbine uptime, reliability, and quality of service.
- Prioritize and escalate operational or technical issues to maintain site performance.
- Coordinate weekly work planning, shift scheduling, high-wind operations, overtime, and on-call rotations.
- Utilize SCADA systems and ERP/CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP) to monitor site KPIs.
Planning, reporting & budget management- Lead weekly operations planning and long-term workforce/labour coordination.
- Manage site budgets, track expenditures, and forecast operational needs.
- Prepare turbine performance reports and maintain KPI dashboards ensuring compliance with customer contractual commitments.
Inventory, fleet management & project support- Oversee inventory control, procurement, and material handling.
- Supervise the service fleet allocation and ensure vehicles are properly maintained.
- Lead special projects to improve maintenance processes, safety, and operational efficiency.
Stakeholder, customer & community relations- Serve as the primary operational contact for the site owner/customer.
- Communicate effectively with internal management, landowners, and regional stakeholders.
- Support and collaborate with the Limoges, ON team when operational alignment is needed.
Requirements :- Post-secondary diploma in Electrical, Electromechanical, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum5 years experience in leading technical teams, including3 years in field-based maintenance or operations.
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical experience; wind turbine experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated people-leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making abilities in field environments.
- Proficiency with MS Office particularly with Excel and other operational tools (SCADA and ERP/CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP) is an asset)
- Clear, professional communication with technicians, customers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to climb and work at heights, and to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions. This is necessary to perform essential job duties.
- Valid driver's licence for travel.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
