Role PurposeWe are seeking a Service Sales Professional supporting various Outside Sales activities and customer relationship management for Automated Logic. Responsible for supporting the company's interests and establishing business relationships to enhance outside sales performance. This position is field-based, candidates must reside in or near Wallingford, CT, to accommodate regular local client visits.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Generate service contract renewals and support recurring revenue streams.
- Identify opportunities to offer value-added services, such as remote monitoring, analytics platforms, or system upgrades.
- Educate clients on new products and services within the automation portfolio.
- Assist in onboarding new customers or transitioning from installation to service agreements.
- Track service contracts, warranties, and maintenance schedules.
- Report on service sales pipeline and forecast revenue.
- Develop and pursue new sales opportunities through provided leads while expanding sales in existing accounts.
- Work closely with technical teams (engineering, field technicians) to understand service requirements and relay customer needs.
- Maintain accurate CRM while reporting service sales, pipeline and forecast revenue.
- Coordinate with project managers to meet customer expectations.
- Customer service mindset with a sales-driven approach.
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED or completion of an accredited trade/technical school program
- 1+ years of B2B or direct sales experience
- Ability to travel locally to client sites and facilities as required by job duties.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Industrial or Construction engineering, Business, or Accounting,
- 3+ years of HVAC controls or building automation sales experience.
- Proven sales or hands-on experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls, commercial construction, electrical, or plumbing trades.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, mechanical drawings, and system schematics.
- Ability to convert complex technical features (e.g., BAS integration, air quality controls) into compelling financial and operational value propositions for clients.
- Experience uncovering upsell opportunities for add-on solutions, including remote monitoring tools, software analytics platforms, and retrofits.
- Proficiency using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) to track leads, manage recurring contract renewals, and maintain accurate revenue forecasts.
- Skill in navigating long sales cycles, managing pricing discussions, and securing long-term service agreements with building owners and facility managers.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders, from C-suite executives to facility engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to work alongside field technicians, project managers, and engineering teams to identify service leads and execute client handoffs.
- Strong organizational skills to balance high-volume administrative contract tracking with proactive sales outreach and client visits.
Pay RangeThe annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.
Other CompensationThis position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
