The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking an experiencedService Mechanic, Journeymanto support maintenance, repair, and sustainment operations across the Indo-Pacific. The Service Mechanic, Journeyman serves as CACI's technical maintenance professional responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining mission-essential vehicles, generators, material handling equipment, trailers, utility systems, and mechanical equipment supporting Joint Theater Distribution Centers (JTDCs), Intermediate Staging Bases (ISBs), warehouses, expeditionary facilities, and forward operating locations. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Operations Lead, this position ensures mission-critical equipmentremainsfully operational, safe, and available to supportlogistics, sustainment, and contingency operations.
The Service Mechanic works closely with Government stakeholders, maintenance supervisors,logisticsplanners, warehouse personnel, engineers, supply specialists, transportation coordinators, and mission partners to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, and restore operational capability. This position contributes to successful program execution by maximizing equipment readiness, minimizing downtime, and supporting resilientlogisticsoperations throughout the Indo-Pacific theater.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and servicing on Government-owned vehicles, trailers, generators, material handling equipment (MHE), and mechanical systems.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and fuel system malfunctions using technical manuals, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments.
Conduct scheduled maintenancein accordance withmanufacturer specifications, technical manuals, and Department of Defense maintenance standards.
Repair or replace defective mechanical components, assemblies, hoses, belts, pumps, bearings, motors, filters, and related equipment.
Support maintenance operations at JTDCs, ISBs, warehouses, ports, airfields, maintenance facilities, and expeditionarylogisticssites.
Perform operational testing, equipment calibration, and post-maintenance inspections to verify serviceability and mission readiness.
Coordinate withlogisticsplanners, supply personnel, and maintenance managers toidentifyrepair parts requirements and equipment maintenance priorities.
Maintain maintenance records, service reports, inspection checklists, repair documentation, and equipment history files.
Support contingency operations, humanitarianassistance, disaster response, and emergent missionsrequiringexpeditionary maintenance support.
Operate shop equipment, hand tools, power tools, lifting devices, and diagnostic equipment whilemaintainingsafe work practices.
Ensure compliance with Department of Defense maintenance procedures, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, technical orders, and contractual obligations.
Identifyrecurring equipment failures and recommend corrective maintenance strategies to improve operational reliability.
Maintain maintenance facilities, tools, test equipment, and spare parts inventories in a safe and organized condition.
Promote equipment readiness, workplace safety, operational efficiency, and continuous process improvement.
Support geographically dispersed and expeditionary operations requiring responsive field maintenance and equipment sustainment.
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting equipment maintenance, mechanical repair, field service, vehicle maintenance, industrial maintenance, or sustainment operations for Government or Department of Defense programs.
Experience supporting Department of Defense, Joint, Combatant Command, Service Component, or Special Operations organizations.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment, generators, material handling equipment, utility vehicles, or similar mission support systems.
Experiencemaintainingmaintenance documentation, inspection records, and repair logs.
Demonstrated ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance while supporting operational timelines and mission requirements.
Active Secret Clearance
Desired:
High School Diploma or GEDrequired;Associate's Degreein Diesel Technology, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Automotive Technology, or a related technical field is preferred.
Experience supporting USSOCOM, SOCPAC, Geographic Combatant Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), Joint Task Forces, or expeditionary maintenance operations.
Experience utilizing GCSS-Army, GCSS-MC, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and electronic maintenance reporting systems.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, diesel and gasoline engines, electrical troubleshooting, equipment lifecycle management, and Department of Defense maintenance doctrine.
Professional certifications such as ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification, NCCER Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, EPA Section 609 Certification, or equivalent mechanical maintenance certifications are preferred.
