Full Job Description
Job Title: IT Operations Specialist - Tier 2

Anticipated Posting End: 1/1/2027

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a key member of the global, 24/7 operations team supporting all infrastructure, devices, products, and solutions
  • Provides comprehensive Tier 2 support, including incident analysis, troubleshooting, break/fix, and hands-on touch labor across multiple IT domains
  • Coordinates with Tier 3 resources for troubleshooting
  • Performs scheduled and ad hoc maintenance, updates, and upgrades per authorized service interruption schedules
  • Provides continuous patch management for designated infrastructure (workstations, servers) across all networks and security domains
  • Provides information and coordinates on approved Plan of Action and Milestones
  • Monitors and analyzes capacity, performance, and service-level metrics to maintain optimal infrastructure utilization and prevent incidents
  • Participates in Continual Service Improvement (CSI) by researching new technologies and articulating evolutionary benefits to stakeholders
  • Uses Lab facilities to promote incident resolution and test the feasibility of new designs
  • Aids in the development of cases and scripts for Beta and Acceptance testing to ensure complete coverage prior to deployment
  • Supports implementation and transfer of engineered solutions through Blue/Green fielding
  • Collaborates with Engineering teams, Tier 3 specialists, and Government stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure system reliability and operability
  • Works with technical writers to develop and maintain SOPs and knowledge base artifacts
  • Aids in creating CDRL documentation, reports, and data

    • Basic T-SQL querying

Required:
  • Must hold a current Top Secret SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to start
  • DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role (minimum Security+)
  • An AA and 10+ years of experience, BS/BA and 8+ years of experience, MS/MA and 6+ years of experience, or PhD and 4+ years of experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience integrating, operating, and maintaining IT hardware and software solutions
  • Applicable vendor, professional or OEM specific certification
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Tier 3 and Engineering resources for advanced troubleshooting and work closely with technical writers and engineering peers
  • Willingness to learn new skills and new technologies.


Desired:
  • Degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering
  • Experience supporting mission environments with 24/7 operational requirements
  • Broad, working knowledge across multiple IT disciplines, including endpoint systems, storage arrays, platform administration, system patching, and enterprise monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with IC ITE services and classified environments
  • Familiarity with Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) or evaluating new storage technologies
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification
