Service Manager | Heavy Construction & Industrial Equipment | Virginia Beach, VA

This role is for the leader who knows heavy equipment, runs a tight shop and takes pride in sending technicians and machinery out the door ready to perform.

What you will be doing:
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Service Technicians
  • Planning and prioritizing shop workflow to meet customer commitments
  • Ensuring equipment is inspected, repaired, tested and ready for service before delivery
  • Coordinating field service activities and technician scheduling
  • Reviewing work orders, repair documentation and service records for accuracy
  • Communicating with customers on repair status, scheduling and technical support
  • Monitoring department performance, labor utilization, turnaround time and customer satisfaction
  • Driving continuous improvement in service processes and operational efficiency

What you need to bring:
  • Previous experience leading technicians or managing a service department
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with heavy construction, industrial, hydraulic or diesel equipment
  • Experience coaching employees and building team accountability
  • Strong organizational, planning and problem solving skills
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, Navision and Smartsheet
  • Experience with pile driving, foundation construction equipment, hydraulic systems or vibratory hammers is a strong plus
