Job Summary:

We are currently looking for a Service Center Supervisor in Broussard, Louisiana. The Service Center Supervisor will be responsible for running day-to-day operations at assigned service center. Supervises hourly workers (workshop & field-based employees) engaged in refurbishment of service iron and flow control components, pump power units and auxiliary equipment, rental products. Responsible for the deployment of training that will enhance organizational efficiency.

What you will do:
  • Manages shop operations in accordance with SPM documented procedures, specifications,
    and customer requirements to ensure all products and services meet customer demands.
  • Develops daily production plan to ensure output targets are achieved and customer
    deadlines are met.
  • Communicates with customers daily to receive and deliver customer assets, meeting
    local customers deadlines and interpret customer requests.
  • Explains specifications and job orders to workers and assign duties.
  • Monitors and improves safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean product environment.
  • Daily tie-in with production management to designate workload, priorities and sequence for work assigned.
  • Determines overtime need, determines priorities when resources are insufficient, and decides when disciplinary action is necessary.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Works to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value-added activities.
  • Ensures the quality of product produced and conforms to Quality Standards while maintaining cost.
  • Ensures necessary parts and materials are ordered and distributed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Implements various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and certifications, etc.
  • Responsible for training and development of staff, time keeping, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, and ensuring consistent application of organizational needs.
  • Completes knowledge of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) of responsible areas.
  • Provides input into billing and/or supply chain processes.
  • Works with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote expanded services growth in area.
  • Sets up machinery and dismantles pumps, engines, and other machinery when necessary.
  • Travel as required to customer locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Additional requirements:
  • High school diploma and 2+ years of aftermarket and/or workshop experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Thorough working knowledge of aftermarket operations, equipment, and processes.

Top Candidates will have:
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products.
  • Must be willing to work outside of normal work hours including overtime and alternate shifts.
  • May be required to move items weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Have a clean driving record, which generally means:
  • No more than (2) moving violations within the last 12 months.
  • No more than three (3) moving violations in the past three (3) years.


Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
