Server-Side Engineer (Backend for Frontend) Location: NYC Join a world-class Mobile Engineering team building highly scalable backend services that power mobile experiences for tens of millions of users worldwide. We are seeking a talented Server-Side Engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, building elegant solutions, and delivering exceptional user experiences. You'll play a key role in developing the Backend for Frontend (BFF) API layer that supports award-winning mobile applications used by millions of customers globally. • What You'll Do • Design and develop scalable server-side applications • Build and maintain Backend for Frontend (BFF) services for mobile applications • Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code • Refactor, optimize, and improve existing codebases • Develop and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs • Troubleshoot issues and fix production bugs • Perform performance analysis and optimization • Create and maintain unit tests and CI/CD pipelines • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and QA teams • Integrate with existing enterprise backend systems and services • Contribute to architecture and technical design discussions • Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience building server-side applications • Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin • Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL • Knowledge of Gradle and modern build tools • Experience with Continuous Integration and automated testing • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming concepts • Experience working with legacy codebases and modernizing applications • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills • Experience working in Agile development environments • Ability to design solutions for complex and open-ended problems 🎓 Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) • Technology Stack Java 🟣 Kotlin 🔗 REST APIs GraphQL ⚙ Gradle CI/CD 🌟 If you're passionate about building high-performance backend systems, writing beautiful code, and creating exceptional mobile experiences at scale, we'd love to hear from you.
