We have an immediate opening in for an IT Server Engineer. The position will be located at our Brooklyn Heights, OH location. The successful candidate is responsible for managing and administering all the servers in the GrafTech Data Center and is in a backup role for managing and administering remote servers.
Repsonsibilities - Expert in administering, maintaining, and managing all servers operating in a global data center.
- Able to successfully manage and troubleshoot unforeseen problems related to external vendors as well as internal team members.
- Assist in creating an IT Infrastructure Roadmap for the global enterprise.
- The ability to find and generate value added business cases.
- Expert knowledge in troubleshooting skills surrounding TCP/IP.
- Builds relationships within the business which facilitates innovative technology.
- Build a project plan and lead an IT team from beginning to end of a project.
- Expert knowledge in GrafTech's global IT environment.
- Understands IT Infrastructure and is a visionary in regards to where GrafTech's server computing environment needs to be.
- Handles escalated support tickets which have been unable to be resolved from Level I and II engineers.
- Takes an active role in developing and mentoring less technical people within the team.
- Designs complex systems and integrations between systems.
- Understands project management.
- Strong desire to learn new technology.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve technical problems.
- Demonstrated use of applying novel solutions to solve problems and complete projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
Qualifications:- Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, relevant technical certifications, military training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience administering, maintaining, and supporting enterprise server environments.
