DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a
Principal / SrPrincipal Systems Engineer for the
Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) team. This position is located in
Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
As a Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Systems Engineer, you will support a team modeling product support analyses across multiple campuses. This role will involve identifying critical system requirements, implementing process improvements, and integrating various models and data. We are looking for a candidate with experience designing federations of models. A successful candidate will be innovative and comfortable solving technical problems without appreciable guidance.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaboration with various groups to integrate functionality with multiple software environments
- Participation in a collaborative Agile environment
- Support modeling, simulation, and analysis activities
- Assist in integrating various analytical models and tools
- Assist in defining system requirements and finding innovative solutions to difficult technical problems
Basic Qualifications:This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (T-04).
Principal Systems Engineer:- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 1 year with a PhD
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
Required for both levels:- Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Demonstrated technical experience in MS&A areas to include V&V
- Experience developing V&V artifacts
- Proficiency in MBSE tools (Cameo, DOORs, CPLM, PLM, or similar)
- Experience guiding technical documents through review processes in a DoD environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with scripting (Python, C++/C#, SQL, MATLAB, R or similar)
- Proactive self-starter capable of identifying gaps and problems in/with processes and proposing and implementing solutions
Preferred Qualifications:- Prior experience with Ansys ModelCenter
- Demonstrated experience meeting business requirements with only general guidance and little pre-existing structure
- Experience related to Product Support Analysis and/or Logistics Support Analysis
- Experience with Agile Release Train (ART) or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Experience identifying end-users requirements, understanding their experiences, needs and preferences for a final product, and developing user-need statements

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
