Title:

Senior Wargamer (Level III)

KBR is seeking a Senior Wargamer (Level III) to support Headquarters, United States Air Force (HAF) A5/7, Air Force Futures (AFF), in the Pentagon and National Capital Region. The successful candidate will support the design, development, execution, facilitation, and analysis of strategic, operational, and concept-focused wargames to inform Air Force and Joint Force capability development, force design, operational planning, modernization efforts, and investment decisions.

The Senior Wargamer will collaborate with military planners, operational analysts, modeling and simulation professionals, intelligence personnel, and senior government leaders to develop realistic scenarios, operational problem sets, adjudication methods, data collection plans, and analytical frameworks. The candidate will support game execution, facilitate discussions among participants, assess outcomes, identify capability gaps and operational risks, and develop decision-quality products for senior leaders.

Additionally, the Senior Wargamer will contribute to campaign analysis, concept evaluation, force employment assessments, and experimentation activities supporting Air Force Futures initiatives. The position requires strong analytical, briefing, writing, and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment supporting senior DoW leadership.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, National Security Studies, International Relations, Military History, Political Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Modeling & Simulation, or related field

  • 10+ years of relevant military, government, FFRDC, or defense contractor experience supporting wargaming, operational planning, campaign analysis, military operations analysis, force development, or experimentation

  • Demonstrated experience planning, designing, conducting, facilitating, or analyzing military wargames, tabletop exercises, operational analyses, or campaign assessments

  • Experience developing scenarios, vignettes, operational problem sets, and adjudication methodologies

  • ​Knowledge of Joint Planning Process (JPP), Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), Air Force planning constructs, and DoD force development processes
  • Experience briefing senior military officers, civilians, and executive leaders
  • Strong written communication and analytical reporting skills
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to work 100% on-site at the Pentagon and/or other National Capital Region government facilities

Desired:

  • Master's degree in National Security Studies, Strategic Studies, Operations Research, Military History, International Affairs, Modeling & Simulation, or related discipline

  • Experience supporting Air Force Futures, HAF A5/7, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, DARPA, or Service-level concept development organizations​

  • Familiarity with campaign analysis and operational assessment methodologies

  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools used within DoD analytical environments

  • Experience supporting Joint, coalition, or interagency wargames

  • Knowledge of force design, capability development, JCIDS, DOTMLPF-P analysis, and concept experimentation

  • Military operational experience at the field grade officer, senior NCO, warrant officer, or equivalent civilian level

  • Experience supporting strategic competition, contingency planning, or theater campaign planning activities.

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Compensation: is $140,000 - $160,00

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
