The Experience Design Team at Fujifilm Sonosite is looking for an exceptional Senior Visual Designer to envision, define, and design the future of visual medicine. The Senior Visual Designer is responsible for leading design projects and works within the design team and across all disciplines to deliver powerful, visually compelling solutions. Job Description

Essential Job Functions:
  • Concept Development: Lead the creation and development of innovative product concepts and design solutions that meet user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Design Strategy and Vision: Define and communicate design vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and market trends.
  • User-Centered Design: Conduct user research, gather insights, and apply design principles to create discoverable, functional, and desirable products.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and mockups that support usability testing, and iterate designs based on feedback to refine product functionality and experience.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with human factors, software development, product management, and other stakeholders to ensure innovative and successful product launches.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed design specifications, Figma files, renderings, presentations, and documentation necessary for design communication and engineering transfer.
  • Design system: Create and manage the Fujifilm Sonosite design system to ensure full communication with software and consistency across product lines.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on design best practices, tools, and processes to build a strong design team.
  • Project Management: Establish and manage design timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time, meet user needs, business needs and quality standards.

Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial design, graphic design, or visual design
  • Professional Work Experience: 8-10 years of design experience, with a track record of leading design projects and delivering successful products.
  • Portfolio of Completed Projects: A robust portfolio showcasing a range of product designs from concept through to production.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven experience working effectively with software, clinical engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders in a product development environment.
  • Project Leadership: Experience managing or leading design projects, mentoring junior designers, and driving the design process from start to finish.
  • Problem-Solving and Innovation: Demonstrated ability to creatively solve complex design challenges and innovate within constraints such as budget, materials, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Experience presenting designs and concepts to stakeholders, or management and incorporating feedback professionally.
  • Design Principles and Methodologies: Deep understanding of design fundamentals, including form, function, usability, ergonomics, and aesthetics.
  • Computer-Aided Design Tools: Proficiency with Figma or similar.
  • Prototyping Techniques: Familiarity with digital prototyping methods.
  • Product Development Lifecycle: Understanding of the full product development process from ideation to production, including collaboration with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams.
  • Visual Communication: Strong skills in sketching, rendering, and creating visual presentations to communicate design concepts effectively.

Salary and Benefits:
  • $120,000/yr. - $145,000/yr. depending on experience + variable target bonus (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).
