The ProblemFlock's media engine is expanding to share real stories of community safety and evidence-driven outcomes across the country. The role has two equally important sides. The first is cinematic, documentary-style storytelling: real people, real stakes, emotional restraint, and the patience to build a narrative that stays with the viewer. The second is high-octane, social-first editing: arresting openings, kinetic pacing, platform-native typography and motion, and an instinctive understanding of how attention works now. You will be Flock's first full-time dedicated editor and a senior craft presence within Film & Editorial, owning the edit from rough cut to final delivery.
What You'll Own- Lead the end-to-end editorial process for short-form and long-form video content, including documentary-style case studies, brand campaigns, and product feature spotlights.
- Transform raw field footage, customer interviews, and motion assets into narrative-driven videos that communicate Flock's mission and real-world impact.
- Collaborate directly with creative directors, producers, and marketing teams to establish editorial pacing, visual style, and storytelling standards across channels.
- Manage post-production workflows, including color grading, sound design, audio leveling, motion graphics integration, and asset organization.
- Produce multiple format cuts optimized for web, social media, event presentations, and executive keynotes.
What This Role is Not- This isn't a passive editing task where you wait for exact frame-by-frame instructions, you'll drive the creative direction of the edit and shape the narrative structure.
- This isn't a field production or camera operator position, video producers and field crews handle production, allowing you to focus entirely on post-production storytelling.
- This isn't a motion-graphics-only or 3D animation role, you will incorporate motion elements, but your primary expertise is narrative video editing and visual pacing.
What You Bring- 8+ years of experience in video editing across brand stories, documentary narratives, or commercial campaigns.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, with deep mastery of Premiere Pro and solid working knowledge of After Effects.
- Familiarity or working knowledge with platforms like LucidLink, Twelve Labs, and generative AI tools such as Runway or Figma Weave is a plus.
- A reel that shows emotional range, narrative intelligence, and technical finish-not simply footage assembled cleanly to music.
- Demonstrated ability to build compelling narrative arcs from unscripted footage and customer interviews.
- Precise eye for pacing, rhythm, visual continuity, and audio mixing that elevates the production value of every cut.
