Job DescriptionSenior Vice President, Full-Stack EngineerWe9re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer to join our Middle Office platform team. This role is in New York City.
In this role, you9ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Building high-scale Java services that power business-critical platforms
- Raising the bar through thoughtful code reviews and engineering standards
- Shaping architecture and APIs with a focus on performance, resilience, and scale
- Owning features end-to-end from design to production and post-release
- Embedding AI across the full SDLC-from requirements and design to testing, releases, and production support
- Using AI to de-risk releases through intelligent change impact analysis, targeted testing, and production-readiness validation
- Creating learning systems where AI captures incident history, code context, and operational knowledge to reduce support load and MTTR
- Working with Products and Operations to craft the Product roadmap
- Improving team velocity with AI code-assistants, CI/CD automation
- Mentoring senior and mid-level engineers; amplify team output
- Innovating through rapid prototyping and fast-paced deliveries of MVPs
To be successful in this role, we9re seeking the following:
- Deep, hands-on experience delivering production-grade Java systems at scale
- Expert in modern Java (17+), Spring Boot, and building distributed services
- Strong background in microservices, REST APIs, modulith and event-driven architectures
- AI-first mindset to design, coding, and testing
- Proven experience with relational databases, SQL tuning, and data modelling
- Familiarity with Kafka/MQ, distributed processing, or large data platforms
- Strong automated testing mindset; comfortable with CI/CD and containerization
- Security-aware engineer who balances speed, reliability, and compliance
- Experience working in Agile teams shipping frequently to production
- Bachelor9s/Master9s in CS or Engineering-or equivalent real-world experience
- Bonus: Exposure to financial systems or polyglot stacks
- Experience in mentoring engineers
- Bachelor9s degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
- 10 plus years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $116,000 and $246,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
