Full Job Description
SrUser Experience Designer will help create intuitive, engaging, and highly usable experiences across a wide range of water instrumentation-related products - both physical and digital. This role is part of the Research & Development team located in Fort Collins, Colorado.

This is a great opportunity for a UX professional who wants to design beyond the screen: you'll work on products that support real-world environmental monitoring, collaborate closely with software engineering, mechanical engineering, product management, and marketing, and help shape how customers interact with tools that generate critical water insights.

In this role, a typical day will look like:
  • Own and execute UX design from concept through implementation, translating user requirements into usable, thoughtful applications.
  • Create wireframes, mock-ups, storyboards, design specifications, and interactive prototypes that help stakeholders clearly understand the intended user experience.
  • Partner closely with engineering and product management to ensure designs are practical, scalable, and accurately implemented.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to identify pain points, validate solutions, and improve the customer experience.
  • Support onsite discovery and design workshops to better understand user problems and translate insights into clear design direction.
  • Analyze digital experiences across web and mobile platforms to identify opportunities for consistency, growth, and usability improvements.
  • Help maintain and evolve the internal design system, ensuring a consistent experience across applications, devices, and product touchpoints.

The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Design, or a related field, with 4+ years of related UX experience.
  • Experience creating usable and visually strong designs, including wireframes, prototypes, workflows, and interaction design deliverables.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing for desktop, web, and mobile interfaces. Mobile app design experience for iOS and/or Android.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders from concept through implementation.
  • Proficiency with Figma (or similar tool).
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

It would be a plus if you also have:
  • Experience with industrial design, mechanical design, or physical product usability.
  • Experience assessing usability for physical products, devices, or instrumentation.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
