About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Trust Officer (Senior Fiduciary Specialist) in Wells Fargo Trust as part of Wealth and Investment Management. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at

In this role, you will:

  • Administer a book of moderately complex fiduciary relationships within a team-based environment, including analyzing trust and estate documents, administering directed and discretionary trusts, implementing client estate plans, and ensuring client accounts are managed in accordance with sound fiduciary principles, and applicable laws.
  • Engage clients, advisors, and internal partners to deliver a high-touch client experience within a strong risk management framework
  • Independently resolve moderately complex issues while leveraging solid knowledge of internal policies and procedures including, but not limited to, distributions, account maintenance, account opening and closing, Know Your Client (KYC) requirements, annual account reviews, and management of overdrafts
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and control development
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on fiduciary administration for moderately complex accounts, and Provide guidance on interpreting governing instruments, applying fiduciary principles, and ensuring compliance with prudent investing standards
  • Serve as a peer mentor to actively train and mentor lower-level staff
  • Participate in marketing and development initiatives, in conjunction with team leaders

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Fiduciary Products experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience and education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of estate, trust, or fiduciary administration
  • A BS/BA degree or higher (such as JD/LLM) in law or trust and wealth management
  • Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA)
  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents
  • Ability to review trust agreement documents and ensure bank compliance
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong risk management and compliance skills
  • Ability to communicate with beneficiaries, co-trustees and clients
