Your Opportunity

Imagine being part of a dynamic team that plans and designs innovative solutions for a diverse set of clients. Our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering (TPTE) group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services across Ontario and beyond. As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to a variety of planning and design projects while guiding more junior transportation professionals as a team. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who takes initiative with demonstrated knowledge and experience in transportation engineering and planning projects, basic understanding of regulatory requirements, good overall communication skills including technical writing skills, and demonstrated experience with transportation planning, data analysis, traffic engineering, preliminary design, and modelling (MS Excel / Access, GIS, modelling software). We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Transportation Planner/Engineer to join our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering (TPTE) team in the GTA. This group provides consulting services to many private and public sector clients, including Metrolinx, the Ministry of Transportation Ontario, and municipalities across the GTA.

  • Transportation Planning (Master Planning, Environmental Assessments)
  • You will also contribute to business development and provide technical leadership to more junior staff on the team.


Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Minimum 15 Years Industry experience.
  • Proven project management experience
  • Good business development acumen
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • General knowledge of relevant transportation planning and traffic engineering policies and design standards used in Ontario
  • Working knowledge of transportation engineering related software such as Synchro, SimTraffic, Visum, Vissim, EMME, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Municipal and/or Provincial experience would be an asset.
Education and Experience
  • BaSc from an accredited university program.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or Professional Planner in the Province of Ontario (or eligible to apply and attain).
  • RSP [Road Safety Professional] certification, or knowledge and experience in road safety would be an asset. Position will be full-time hybrid employment for a transportation planner/engineer with desire to progress toward seniority.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
