OverviewWieland is hiring a Senior Trader. The Senior Trader provides leadership within the organization by applying a thorough understanding of the product, the competitive landscape, consumer demands, and industry trends and operational best practices. Responsible for securing new business prospects through sourcing from, traveling to, and maintaining relationships with industrial accounts to purchase electronics scrap. This role is located in Granite City and will be fully on-site. While this role is local, occasional travel to other locations will be required (25% travel).
Base Salary Range: $118,640 - $177,960/year
May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities
Senior Trader Responsibilities:
- Develop assigned purchasing and sales program through market research, procurement, sales and new business development.
- Implement internal program for process flow. Provide guidance to the team on both strategic supplier identification, selection and development.
- Develop and track key performance indicators / metrics designed to achieve department goals and support broader Wieland initiatives.
- Liaise with internal business partners to align with overall business strategy and needs and ensure Procurement’s on-going value contribution.
- Assist with building a strong team/ develop / train / mentor team member.
- Accountable for all aspects of the category strategy including product, pricing, promotion, and selling strategy.
- Articulates a clear strategic plan and drives it to execution.
- Identify potential suppliers for spot opportunities and long-term business relationships.
- Manage relationships with larger industrial accounts for electronics scrap sourcing
- Work with commercial, accounting, and shipping/receiving team to ensure BOMs are accurate.
Senior Trader Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10-15 years of experience in recycling procurement, operations, or sales.
- Knowledgeable in electronics scrap processing, grading, and pricing.
- Effective team player with good communication, analytical and time management skills.
- Strong financial analysis, process, and project management skills
- Consistent purchasing and sales results.
- Experience negotiating contracts of all sizes.
- Ability to develop strong relationships.
- Understand financial measures that impact business.
- Proven ability to multi-task projects and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong decision-making skills.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office.
- Must have effective communication skills including strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish credibility and respect.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including the ability to ensure communication flow within the supply chain and internal shipping/receiving team members.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% both domestically with international travel possible.
