Senior Thread Engineer - Clearance Required

THE WORK
TKO provides systems engineering, software development, data science and cloud development and engineering services to the Cyber Infrastructure Solutions customer. The services enable the Data Transformation, Malware Analysis, and Cyber Threat Intelligence processing and sharing capabilities for the customer, fulfilling mission objectives and offering actionable information to detect and mitigate cyber threats. The contract has several locations in Maryland and a small contingent in Texas.

WHO YOU ARE
• You are an experienced Systems Engineer with strong project management skills to provide engineering solutions and project management for data flows supporting tactical mission partners in support of the Data Transformation Solutions (DTS) TTO. You will be elicit and refine requirements, schedule work breakdown to deliverables, document artifacts, and provide roadmaps and schedules for implementing end-to-end data flows, including transformation into a standard data model. You will form good customer relationships and reach out to external customers for requirements and understanding of the data and the data needs of the users.

Basic Qualifications

Education
• A Bachelor's degree in Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience.

OR A High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of general system engineering experience.

OR A Master's degree or PhD in a relevant discipline from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.
• Current US Security Clearance with polygraph required

Required Skills:
• Ability to form good relationships with customers and mission partners
• Reach out to external customers for requirements and understanding of the data and the data needs of the users
• Ability to critically think through complex data flow problems, break down effort into manageable tasks, and create/maintain scope out of sometimes vague customer requirements.
• Good working skills with Atlassian products such as Confluence and Jira
• Good understanding of data processing capabilities
• Understands system-to-system connections for data flow processes
• Basic understanding of NiFi, should understand flow file attributes or be able to learn it quickly
• Understanding of SIGINT collection and analysis
• Experience with Military Cryptologic Offices, Tactical Collection Capabilities, Military SIGINT architectures and related data flows.

Desired Skills

Desired Skills:
• Experience with Electronic Warfare operations, sensors and related data
• Familiar with data formats such as CSV, JSON, PCAP and XML
• Understanding of tactical datalinks and command and control signals
• Understanding of data architectures
• Experience with Intelligence Community
• Experience with DoD Service Intelligence Centers (such as NASIC)
• Understanding of DoD - command structures and relationships

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
