Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tekla Detailer to lead structural steel modeling and detailing from design through fabrication. This role combines hands-on Tekla detailing with technical leadership, quality control, workflow development, and team mentorship.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Tekla Structures in a structural steel fabrication environment and understands the full detailing process, including shop drawings, erection drawings, fabrication packages, connection detailing, and production coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Create and review detailed Tekla models, shop drawings, erection drawings, and fabrication packages for structural steel projects.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve company standards for Tekla modeling, detailing, and drawing production.
  • Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to structural steel detailers.
  • Train team members and conduct quality reviews to ensure consistent detailing practices.
  • Coordinate with engineers, Project Managers, estimators, fabrication teams, and production personnel.
  • Review structural drawings, architectural plans, specifications, and engineering documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform quality control reviews of Tekla models and fabrication drawings before release to production.
  • Support fabrication and field teams by addressing RFIs, revisions, and technical detailing issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, templates, automation, and overall department efficiency.
  • Assist with workload planning, project scheduling, and prioritization to meet production deadlines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, consistency, and efficiency.
