Position Summary:

Since the doors opened in 1972, our Atlanta factory has grown dramatically into a state-of-the-art facility. With safety at the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®. Our factory also does its part for the environment by conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, maintaining zero waste for disposal and more. This plant location is situated along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta-an area that nearly 6 million residents and many of our associates call home. As a Senior Technical Training Specialist, you are responsible for the overall management of all technical maintenance competency building (World Class Manufacturing), Education & Training (E&T), leadership initiatives and pillar activities involving the factory maintenance personnel, as well as all technical training that occurs within a factory Technical Training Center (TTC).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support, coordinate and oversee the development of standardized onboarding for the factory technical (maintenance) teams
  • Monitor and coordinate ongoing onboarding and competence management for maintenance personnel at factory location as well as the determination of onboarding content and plans for development of materials for key competencies
  • Coordinate efforts and oversee deployment of a digital competence management platform (Poka, Power BI and other solutions) and development of a digital structure strategy for maintenance space
  • Coordinate efforts, monitor and recommend improvements to World Class Technical Training Center, including development of technical training modules and oversight of technical training curriculum development
  • Prepare and communicate education and training rollout plans related to maintenance personnel/activities including selection of key activities, priorities for rollout, scope (lines, area etc.) and glidepath for results
  • Act as a change agent, promoting the vision and the path to manufacturing excellence through education and training
  • Lead, train, and coach the Factory Maintenance Teams, HR, and E&T Managers in ownership of Technical Maintenance E&T activities
  • Manage Technical Maintenance E&T area of responsibility priorities through identification and management of key activities, resource allocation and prioritization to make sure the impact on total market key expected results


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 7+ years' experience developing and executing technical training programs in an industrial, manufacturing, military, classroom, or related environment

OR
  • Bachelor's degree in training and development, Business, Engineering, Human Resources, or related field
  • 3+ years' experience developing and executing technical training programs in an industrial manufacturing, military, classroom, or related environment


The approximate yearly pay range for this position is $84,000 - $116,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
